Auntie Emily and I enrolled Alexa and Joey in swimming lessons. Joey already took lessons in the summer, but it's a first for Alexa. She loves the water so much that I thought it would be a good idea.
The lessons are on Mondays, and Jack and Oliver have lessons too. The babies' lessons are awesome. It's all about teaching tiny kids how to survive for those necessary extra seconds in case they fall into water. It's all very controlled and safe, but they get you to put the babies' faces right under water first thing in the lesson. It's very exciting.
It was old hat for Joey, so he was a champ. But Alexa was awesome, too! She didn't cry at all, even when her head when totally under water!
Uncle Dean checked with the pool staff and found out that he was allowed to take pictures of the kids, so here are some awesome shots of our swimming lessons!
At the pool, getting ready to go in.
Emily, Joey, Alexa and I enjoying the water before our lesson.
Ollie at his lesson.
Jack at his lesson. At one point during the lesson, I heard his voice clear over every other kid, saying: "There's my mum and my little brother, and that's my aunt." Cute kid.
Singing and walking backwards with the babies. We had to walk in a circle, and a backwards circle in the water is actually harder than you might expect. I kept going off course.
Dunk and reward. Dunk the baby under water and let her get the toy as a reward. Alexa tried to eat her toy.
Another exercise: hold the baby at arm's length and dunk them under the water while pulling them towards you. Alexa was a champ at this one.
Me, Em, and the other parents in the baby class.
We drove from lessons to Jevon's work to pick him up and take him home. On the way home, Jevon sat in the back seat to keep Alexa awake. He entertained her by playing with her, taking pictures, and wearing sparkly antennae. She was well entertained!

Why didn't you post a picture of Jevon in the sparkly antennae? Hee hee.
I was driving, so I couldn't take a picture of the antennae, and they were off by the time I parked the car. So sad.
