On Sunday, they played inside and went tobogganing. Alexa had a little tumble off a toboggan and needed some cuddles from Opa. At night, she needed Sam to sing her songs and Grammie to cuddle her until she went to sleep, but otherwise was fine.

On Monday, all five boy cousins had ski lessons, so Alexa and Grammie had a day to themselves. Grammie offered Alexa several options (baking, going out for lunch, painting toenails), and Alexa chose playing in the basement. So they played in the basement for a while, and then went to the ski hill to meet up with the boys, aunts and uncle, and Opa for lunch. Alexa told us about it on the phone. The highlight was definitely playing in the basement with Grammie.
Monday night, she needed Auntie Ange and Uncle Geoff to put her to bed. Apparently, she's been telling everyone that she loves them quite constantly. She is not lacking for affection while she's away from her family.
Monday also featured too much cuteness in one chair.
On Tuesday, the kids spent most of the day outside. Alexa had another tobogganing spill, but this time cousin Charlie saved her from flying off the toboggan - at the expense of putting his teeth through his own lip. According to Alexa: "Me and Charlie falled off the toboggan and I cried and Charlie bled." Despite that injury, everyone enjoyed the nice weather with a picnic lunch.

On Wednesday, the big boys went skiing again, so Alexa went to watch them at the ski chalet. She is very excited about getting ski lessons next year. There was a face painting booth at the ski chalet, so Alexa got (surprise, surprise) a butterfly. The colours vary, but she always chooses a butterfly. This time, it was a rainbow butterfly. And, let's be honest here, if I was to get my face painted, I might ask for a sparkly rainbow butterfly too. There's even a jewel! Lucky ducky.
I think this is supposed to be a smile, but that it got wrinkled up by the feeling of the face paint. Apparently, she kept having to go back to the mirror to admire herself.
On Thursday, Auntie Ange, Uncle Geoff, and cousins Charlie and Sam packed themselves and Alexa, Tetris-style, into their car to come home. They arrived at our house about five minutes before I got home from work and picking Mia up from daycare.
Mia was super excited to see her sister. Alexa started giggling when she saw me, but the giggles got a little hysterical. I don't think she realized that she missed Mummy until she saw me.
Ange, Geoff, Charlie and Sam stayed for dinner before heading back home. After dinner, Mia tried to climb her high chair. Monkey! These show her progression up the chair and into her seat (pausing, of course, to say "cheese").
And here is Friday morning's aftermath of a wonderful week with cousins. One tired little girl just couldn't open her eyes, not even for cereal and a smoothie.
