Things about Alexa

I apologize for the lack of posts recently. There are two forces at work here. First is that Blogger has changed how you upload pictures so that it is much less user friendly. Second is that Alexa had pneumonia and Jevon and I spent most of our time and energy last week taking care of her.

I have never felt so helpless as when Alexa was feverish and crying.

Poor little muffin is on antibiotics. Thankfully, she was healthy enough to be non-contagious in time for a baby shower in her honour in Huntsville on the weekend. We had a blast.

Anyway, I thought I would list a few things that make Alexa who she is, for the people who are too far away to have met her yet.
  • She folds her hands in front of her when she's nursing in a way that makes her look like she's either being very proper or she's praying.
  • Her hiccups used to make her sound like a squeak toy, but now they just sound like hiccups.
  • She loves her mobile and starts to giggle when we turn it on.
  • In the morning, she grins at whoever picks her up from bed as if they're the best person in the world.
  • Sometimes she focuses on your face a long time after you've been in the room, and gives you a smile that says "Oh, I'm glad you're here!"
  • She's super cranky when she's tired or hungry (kind of like her Mum).
  • She doesn't like Tummy Time, and scrunches her knees up under her and scoots herself forward like an inchworm, but she's not strong enough to pick her head up off the ground, so it just drags.
  • She squirms around so much that she usually wears her hats backwards and her bibs as if they were capes.
I'll work on more pictures soon!
