Sunday fun (lots of meat in this one - maybe don't look if you're a vegetarian)

On Sunday morning, we went out for Brunch for Tracey's birthday. Alexa finally got to meet several of the book club ladies (and even some significant others). Chris was itching to hold her and helped Mummy get Alexa out of her car seat.

The Birthday Girl got a cuddle, then Alexa was passed around the table. She was SO good! She was held by Chris, Tracey, Kelly, Marianne, Paul, Martijn, and Laurian. She came back to Mummy to nurse and fell asleep just in time for Mummy and Daddy to enjoy Brunch. No one had to eat in shifts! Awesome. Hooray for a sleeping baby.

After Tracey's awesome birthday Brunch, we went over to Mark and Steph's house so that the boys could play with meat.

Seriously.

Mark invited Jevon and Ram over to make sausage.

It was a pretty cool process. Mark bought meat from a local butcher. He and Ram cut it up before Jevon and I arrived. They made sure to get the right amount of fatty meat in each batch so that the sausages would turn out right. They ground the cut up chunks of meat in the KitchenAid mixer (meat grinding attachment).

After the meat was appropriately ground, spices were added. They made three different batches - chorizo, leek and sundried tomato, and garlic and pepper.

Once everything was appropriately spiced, it was time to put the meat in the stuffing attachment and put it in the casings.

After that, Ram and Jev cleaned up while Mark BBQ'd the meat. We all had super-fresh YUMMY sausage for dinner.

I brought cake.

During this whole process, Steph and I played with the babies and the puppies.

Steph's "fur son".

Charlie, looking like a monkey.

Alexa, hanging out in Charlie's swing. She was not actually as disgruntled as this picture would suggest. I captured her as she was falling asleep.

Charlie, playing with his toys.

And, of course, the obligatory cuddle picture!
