Hey y'all. Welcome back to my blog.
It's hard to blog with a toddler and a newborn. I knew that it would be. What I didn't realize is that it is infinitely harder to blog on the desktop in the basement than on a laptop in the living room. However, my Mac spontaneously combusted more than a year ago and the ol' PC was the only option.
Until now.
For Mother's Day last year, Jevon promised to fix my old Mac. We took it in, but found that it would be very expensive for a fix that would likely not last. This year, as a combined birthday/Mother's Day present, and as a make-up for the fix that didn't happen, Jev replaced my Mac. I am BEYOND thrilled. I've been typing this as he watches Game 6 of the Leaf's series.
Mother's Day was nice. We had a low-key morning, complete with bacon-and-eggs breakfast. I opened my gifts from Jev and the girls (this Mac and some lovely framed family pictures). Then we piled in the car for a visit with the van der Meer clan (minus Opa) for lunch and the afternoon. Alexa had a great time with her cousins, and at one point could be heard to holler: "Boys! What you doing in basement?" Mia had lovely cuddles with Grammie and her aunties and uncles. We got home and fed Alexa and then put both girls to bed and then indulged in take-out Chinese food for our Mother's Day dinner.
I really enjoyed my day. Here are some Mother's Day pictures for you.
Opening gifts in the morning.
Jevon was making me giggle.
Sneaking treats from Grammie.
The result of the treats - chocolate face! I had picked out jeans and a t-shirt for Alexa to wear, but she insisted on a party dress. I was happy to oblige. What's the point of having party dresses if you don't wear them?
Mia, being very serious.
Three generations.
Pretty baby!
