I underestimated the snowstorm

AM640 radio assured me that we would get between 2 and 10 cm of snow today, closer to 2 cm in the East end of Toronto. Bull. I'm in the East end of Toronto, and we already have MUCH closer to 10 cm, maybe more. And it's still coming!

I was feeling cooped up today, and Alexa was fussy, so I bundled her into the front carrier and set off to the local grocery (Jerry's, for you East enders) for some last-minute supplies (we were out of milk for breakfast). I figured that the snow wouldn't be too bad. WRONG.

It took me 45 minutes to get to and from Jerry's, with only about ten minutes inside the store. It shouldn't take NEARLY that long. I met another mother on the way - she was pushing a stroller - and we stopped to commiserate (read: laugh at/with) each other slogging through the slushy mess.

Rainer, Faith and Leah are coming over for dinner. Good thing they have an SUV. It's nasty out there. I think I'm going to go back into hibernation tomorrow if this mess continues overnight.
