River adventure

This weekend, Jevon and my sister's husband were both at conferences, so I packed the girls up and headed to my sister's house for the day on Saturday.

The kids had a little play in the morning. After lunch, Mia went down for nap. Her auntie stayed with her, and I took the four older kids to the "ravine" to play in the river. The river is about six inches deep at the most and it was a great place for the kids to explore.

The river is manmade (concrete), and there was a lot of algae on the bottom. Shoes alternately stuck and slipped on the bottom. Joey was the first to fall in. He fell in about three times before Alexa fell in. Then Joey again, and Alexa again and Joey a few more times. Ollie went down once, but he caught himself and didn't get wet. Jack was the only one wearing rubber boots and was also the only one who didn't fall. When I finally fell in, there was great hilarity. Thankfully, the one pocket that stayed dry was the one with my blackberry! Alexa and Joey thought it was the height of comedy to say that our "butts" were wet. Ahh, toilet humour... so much fun.

We adventured home, dried off, and spent the rest of the afternoon alternating between the sprinkler, the bouncy castle, and the snack table. I have more pictures of the rest of the afternoon on the big camera, so I'll have to post those later.

Also to post later: awesome pictures of my other sister's ADORABLE NEW PUPPY. Stay tuned.
