My beautiful big girl is growing up. She's babbling, saying a few words ("hi", "da", "no", and occasionally "ma"). She shakes/nods her head for "no" and "yes". She waves bye-bye, gives five, and blows kisses. She's walking more and more each day. Her first steps were on Christmas Eve, but yesterday she really started balancing and walking on her own volition. She's got eleven teeth (eight incisors and three molars). She's just looking more like a toddler and less like my baby. While I'm sad to see the baby phase go, I love watching each new discovery.

I love being a Mum, and this past year has been wonderful. I have so enjoyed this time with Alexa.
Sometimes it takes my breath away when I realize how much Alexa means to me, and how much my life is enriched having had her. When I was pregnant, I didn't care whether I had a boy or a girl. As soon as I had Alexa, my brain said: "Oh, this is what I wanted!" And she is exactly what I wanted.
This year has been full of laughter, tears, giggles, milestones, kisses, cuddles, sleepless nights, stressful "will we ever sleep again?" nights, peaceful "thank goodness she's sleeping" nights, visits, friends, family, and most of all: love.
